Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill Review

November 17, 2012 by admin

Getting in shape is no easy feat, especially if you don’t live in an area that is conducive to running outside or lack the time to head to the gym every day. Purchasing a treadmill is a good way to skirt around those barriers, but there are so many options available and aren’t treadmills extremely expensive? That’s not always the case! In fact, there are many treadmills models under $500 flooding the market so you have plenty of low-priced options to choose from.

How do you pick the right treadmill for your home? With hundreds of models and countless brands available, it can be difficult to choose the best treadmill for you on the market. Thankfully, we’re here to break down some of your choices. One of the options to consider is the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill.

Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Review

So, what is the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill all about? Well, this treadmill falls under the $500 category and might be a good fit for your home. The entry-level treadmill can fold up, which makes it a good option for homes that have limited or no designated workout space. Plus, the low price means it costs less than a year gym membership. That’s a spec that’s hard to beat in low-budget treadmills.

The thing to remember with low-budget treadmills is that they won’t be of the highest quality. In fact, with the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill, there really are no bells and whistles. The treadmill is void of the typical features like water bottle holders and magazine racks that seem to come standard on all treadmills regardless of price, but for those looking to get a bit of a workout, it still might be a good option.

The Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill is meant for walking. Runners will not be able to utilize this treadmill due to the small track size and a top speed of just 10 miles per hour. The track is just 50” long, which means that runners will not be able to adequately stretch their legs. Keep in mind that normal treadmills have tracks that are between 55” and 60” to give runners plenty of room to open up their strides. The motor is just 2.5 HP as well, which isn’t enough to propel the track over 10 MPH. However, if you are shorter and looking for a solid walking treadmill, the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill can deliver.

In terms of workouts, the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill offers 6 built-in workout programs. Although the incline operation is manual, you can still adjust it to increase the intensity and hardness of your workout. The blue-tinted LCD display will be able to show you speed, workout duration, calories burned, and distance traveled. It isn’t anything fancy, but you will be able to view the workout specs.

What We Like

There are many aspects to consider when buying a treadmill, but here are a few specific things that we like about the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill:

Collapsible:One of the greatest features of the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill is that it is foldable. That means you can easily collapse the treadmill and get it out of your way. For homes with tight rooms or no designated workout space, this is essential.

Affordable: The Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill is also extremely affordable. In fact, you could purchase this treadmill for less than the cost of a yearly gym membership in some locations. If you are looking for a way to get in shape, but don’t have a lofty budget, the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill makes working out possible with its low price point.

Built-In Workout Programs: Another added benefit of the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill—and what makes it stand out in the lower price range—is that it comes with 6 built-in workout programs. That makes it easy to hop on and get the workout you need.

What We Don’t Like

With lower priced treadmills there are going to be some concessions. Here are a few things that we don’t love about the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill:

Not for Runners: One issue with the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill is that the track is too short for runners. That means this treadmill is only for walking workouts. If walking is all you want to do, that’s great. If not, the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill is not for you.

Manual Incline: This one isn’t a big deal, but we’d be remiss not to mention it. This treadmill only has two incline levels and you can only adjust the incline manually. That means mid-workout adjustments to change intensity involves jumping off the treadmill and resetting the include. That’s just not ideal.

Limited Features: Finally, while the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill is in the low budget category, it is still missing things like magazine racks and water bottle holders that come pretty standard on any priced treadmill. These aren’t necessities, but they’re certainly nice to have.

Product Specs

Now that you know a bit more about the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill, it’s time to look at product specs. Listed below are the important specs for the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill:

Final Thoughts on the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill

If you are looking for a small treadmill that is good for tight spaces, the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill is one to consider. Although it lacks in special features like water bottle holders and magazine racks, it has everything you need to get a quality walking workout in. While moving up to a higher price point will get you a higher quality machine, at this price point the Weslo Cadence 5.9 Treadmill is difficult to beat.
